The Victory at Quito

by Mark Signorelli (April 2010)

Down the mountain pass to Quijos

Hi Mark,

Ursula shared this poem with me and I really liked it.  It is beautiful to see the honor and bravery of the strong leader Ruminahui.  Quito is a beautiful city, hope you and Ursula get to visit the Quitus capital very soon. I am sure you will enjoy the warmth of the Ecuadorian people. What inspired you to write this poem. I remember as a student reading the beautiful story of Cumanda...highly recommend it, I bet you would write wonderful poems of her after knowing more about her story. :) Take care and I enjoy reading your work.
