Vampire Writer Quits Christianity

Anne Rice has left Christianity.

As they say, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Lucky for her she hadn't converted to Islam!

Leaving Islam is known to be a bit more... difficult.

The “Interview with a Vampire” author, who wrote a book about her spirituality titled "Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession" in 2008, said Wednesday that she refuses to be “anti-gay,” “anti-feminist," “anti-science” and “anti-Democrat.”

Rice wrote, “For those who care, and I understand if you don't: Today I quit being a Christian ... It's simply impossible for me to ‘belong’ to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten years, I've tried. I've failed. I'm an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.”

DL - Rice has only abandoned organized religion - the followers of Christ - not belief in Christ. lui-meme.

Mary Baker Eddy said: "Follow your leader only as far as she follows Christ." But she thought she was following Christ all the way, in everything she said and did, and therefore expected her disciples to be totally loyal to her.

The link you gave brought me eventually to this weasel-worded exercise in taqqiya. Some excellent comments.
