Delusions from a Dictator

From Reuters:

"I don't hesitate in running risks of compromising my modest moral authority," he (Fidel Castro) wrote on Sunday.

I was unaware that Castro had any moral authority.

Castro writes opinion columns, or "Reflections," for Cuba's state-run media that in recent weeks have focused on his prediction that nuclear war will soon break out, sparked by a conflict between the United States and Iran over international sanctions against Iran's nuclear activities.

Seems to me he is suggesting that sanctions against Iran could lead to a nuclear war. I suppose then his solution is to let Iran develop nukes so that they can attack Israel, then the US. Any enemy of the US is a friend of his. Islam and Communists find common cause because they both hate the United States.

Hhhmmm... what happened when the Iranian left joined with the Islamic revolution to overthrow the Shah? No more Iranian leftists.

Fools.

I saw Castro in the flesh in April 1959. He was not yet the pro-Soviet ranter he woud soon become, and even displayed a flash of humr, but his attitude toward the United States was already clear. Age has not improved him. In fact, now that I think about it, his sell-by date was probably early May, 1959. .
